Welcome to the debshots development site

This is the Trac (wiki, project planner and issue tracker) for debshots. It's the software that screenshots.debian.net is running on. If you think you have found a bug or would like to file a wishlist request please login as "guest" with password "makeitso" and create a new ticket.

Source

'debshots' is open-source software. Feel free to check out the Git repository:

git clone  git://git.workaround.org/debshots.git

Or just browse it by clicking "Browse Source" in the navigation on the top right.

Versions

  • Stable: Version 1.x is based on  Pylons. It can be considered stable screenshots.debian.net runs on it (as of March 2012). This is the "v1" branch.
  • Development: Version 2.x is based on  Pyramid (Pylons successor web framework). It's a complete rewrite. This is currently the "master" branch.

See the Planned Features page to see what is planned for the 2.x version. Or check out the mockups that were created with help from Inayaili Leon from the Ubuntu design team.

Running your own instance

Of course you can run your own instance of debshots and start collecting screenshots. But please consider sharing our effort of collecting screenshots. The current plan is to make debshots work for all Linux-like distributions that offer software packages. So contact us on the mailing list and let's work together.
